Bio-composite Films Based on Alginate and Rice Husk Tar Microparticles Loaded with Eugenol for Active Packaging

نویسندگان

چکیده

This work focused on the valorization of tar derived from rice husk pyrolysis as a precursor matrices for encapsulation active principles. In this regard, development novel films based alginate and eugenol-loaded microparticles with suitable mechanical properties antibacterial activity was studied. Tar loaded eugenol were incorporated into sodium effect mechanical, thermal humidity resistance determined, well antimicrobial activity. Films different crosslinking degrees also prepared using CaCl2, controlled release profiles evaluated. Crosslinked exhibited improved properties, lower rate in water. The studies showed that present higher against Staphylococcus aureus. Alginate/eugenol-loaded composites an enhancement physical characteristics to be used packaging applications.

Enhanced Hemostatic Performance of Tranexamic Acid-Loaded Chitosan/Alginate Composite Microparticles

Novel microparticles based on chitosan and sodium alginate were prepared using emulsification and cross-linking technologies. The spherical microparticles had a porous surface and a diameter of 2 ~ 40 μm. In simulated body fluid, these microparticles quickly swelled but gradually degraded. The results of the MTT assay revealed that a slight inhibition of cell proliferation was observed on day 2...

Influence of Pyrolysis Temperature on Rice Husk Char Characteristics and Its Tar Adsorption Capability

A biomass waste, rice husk, was inspected by thermoanalytical investigation to evaluate its capability as an adsorbent medium for tar removal. The pyrolysis process has been applied to the rice husk material at different temperatures 600, 800 and 1000 °C with 20 °C/min heating rate, to investigate two topics: (1) influence of temperature on characterization of rice husk char and; (2) adsorption...

Facile fabrication of rice husk based silicon dioxide nanospheres loaded with silver nanoparticles as a rice antibacterial agent.

Bacterial leaf blight of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is a major disease of rice, leading to reduction in production by 10-50%. In order to control this disease, various chemical bactericides have been used. Wide and prolonged application of chemical bactericides resulted in the resistant strain of Xoo that was isolated from rice. To address this problem, we were searching...

Alginate-Based Composite Sponges as Gastroretentive Carriers for Curcumin-Loaded Self-Microemulsifying Drug Delivery Systems

Alginate-based composite sponges were developed as carriers to prolong the gastric retention time and controlled release of curcumin-loaded self-microemulsifying drug delivery systems (Cur-SMEDDS). Liquid Cur-SMEDDS was incorporated into a solution made up of a mixture of polymers and converted into a solid form by freeze-drying. The ratio of alginate as the main polymer, adsorbent (colloidal s...
